"Aging in place" technologies allow seniors to live in their home safely instead of being forced to live in a nursing home or other institution. These technologies include two-way video communication with loved ones, sensors, and other assisting technologies to provide a safe and secure environment in the person's home.
In most cases, staying at home is much less expensive than receiving care in a nursing facility. Also, there is the great benefit of living in comfortable and familiar surroundings while maintaining the dignity of living independently.
